Monday/17-Jun-18-Thursday/28-Jun-18: On vacation. Nothing happened in the kitchen.
Friday/29-Mon-18: Back from vacation. Stopped at Intermarché to pick up supplies for the next days' meals. Aiming to get back on a regular schedule. Did quite a bit of wine-tasting while we were out and about; will try to write about this before I forget
Reading through magazines on the way home, I found Broken Pasta with Pistachio and Lemon (CL/may18; web) and opted for that for dinner. Couldn't find a kale-spinach mix; used mâche-roquette instead. For the two of us, I made essentially the whole recipe. This was a one-dish meal, and very good.
Saturday/30-Jun-18: We went to our local Fête de la Motte for our evening meal, but that was probably a mistake. It was melting hot, and the meal ran late as always. Big hunks of grilled beef for the main. We ate some and brought the rest home for another meal. Skipped dessert, went home, and had ice cream bars.
Just occurred to me that I've given no thought to my cookbook for July. Will get on that tomorrow.
Sunday/1-Jul-18: Another hot day. Dinner was meatballs from the freeer, with red bell pepper sauce from the freezer, served over the funny shaped pasta we brought back from vacation. (If I'm not too lazy, I'll look at the label and put the name here.) Served with a simple salad.
Decided on A Book of Middle Eastern Food, by Claudia Roden. I was surprised this was the only cookbook by Roden that I have. I've used it a bit, but will try more in July.
